chipping a tbi???

has anyone used chips to better there performance of there tbi?
i was just ordered a stage 2 chip for my 305tbi from tbi chips. it
has a better fuel curve and timing. but the best part is it disables the 110mph limiter. do you think i will gain 1/4 mile time at all? and he said i would have to run 93octane. but i have a 160thermosate. i think i will be fine. but will i gain?

Thats a loaded question. Do some searching on here, and you'll see that some say they can feel a seat of the pants gains from his chips....most say (including myself) their a wast of your money. You can't really guess at what a particular engine needs, GM spent millions trying to do just that, and they didn't get it right for every vehicle that rolled off the assymbly line.

Exactly. Even though every car should be the same... they aren't. If you want a chip to give you the most gain possible from your stock motor, burn your own custom chip.
