PROMinator or Similar Device
I'm looking for a do it yourself computer for our cars, and someone pointed me in the direction of the PROMinator.
I have a couple of questions:
Is the prominator my best option, or is there another option or emulator, or something else to consider?
Will it definately work in my car (1991 GTA 350)?
Are there any known problems with the prominator?
Can I still order the prominator even tho the site is down?
I noticed the site said that the ordering is down due to awaiting new manufacturing. Is there something faulty with the current stock? Should I wait until a new batch is created for a superior quality product? Is the product being resigned?
Will it work with Windows 2000, NT, or XP?
Finally, is there anyone in the NJ area willing to install this for me?

No, there are no known problems with any Prominators. We are currently having them manufactured right now, rather than hand-building each one. Each of the manufactured ones will be tested fully before being sent out (as they all have been in the past.) There is no "stock" - that's part of our problem. We are having a batch made so that we finally DO have "stock" and we can ship out orders quickly.
It will work with TunerPro, which is compatible with 2000/XP I believe. You just need to make sure your laptop has a parallel port.
The Prominator will definitely work in your vehicle, but we need to know if it's TPI or TBI - TBI will require that you send us the ECM to install it (free) and TPI will require an adapter ($35) but you can snap the entire assembly into your ECM yourself that way.
