G-tech coments please

I havent done much at all with tuning lately, Ive been working on other projects. But...due to all the G-tech advertising on TV, I decided to search EBAY and see what the current prices are. I can get the original G-tech for $29 plus a few for shipping straight from G-tech, brand new. I would really like a better model, like the older pro-competition which seems to go for about $120 used, or the newest pro-RR which is around $279 new.

I would love a model that can download to my laptop but I just cant spend the money for it. I guess my question is- is the basic model ANY good at all? I mean its only $29 but is it worth getting?

Anything is a million times better then nothing. For years, I used a stop watch wired into the VSS. It was really crude but it worked, so I learned how to be consistant, and did alot of 600' runs.

I had one of the older ones, and a new SS, all in all, they seem to be a good way of looking for trends. I wouldn't use one, for bragging rights, but for tuning, they'll do when the tracks are closed, and you can do short runs with the late ones. I forget if the early ones, could capture an 1/8 mile or not.
