can a 7730 ECM control a V6?
i have a S10 Blazer with 4.3L V6 (TBI), and was wondering if i could control it as Multiport injection with a 7730 ECM, if i put 6 fuel injectors into a custom intake manifold.
I know i would have to tune my own VE and spark tables, thats not the problem. But i'm not sure if the ECM will control the 6 cyl. distributor just by setting the "number of cylinders" value in the PROM to "6"

Yes. It was used on the 2.8/3.1L V6 found in Pontiac Sunbirds (and it's sibling cars - known as the J-body platform). Those cars had DIS ignition, so you could go that route too.

Your other option is to run the $58 code in the 730 (Cyclone/Typhoon). You'll miss a few options because of the h/w delta between 730 and 749, but you can search for that info in this forum.
