added timing and car seems to want to stall out
I was running 15* in low RPMs in my Vette via the chip. The car seem to want to stall out all the time it did once in a while. I data logged, my fuel mixture dead on prefect almost, I don't get any knock at all. My knock senor works too. What the hell causes this problem. Is my spark being put out because the compresion is getting higher???? I final bumpped it down to 8* in the lower RPMs and it seems to help a little. when it's at stock timing it idles and runs very smooth. I swear the car seems a little strong with stock timing too, or i can't feel much diff if any???? please help. all my parts a all new, plugs, wires, sensors MAF, blah bhal. list goes on. butt the knock sensor i have not replaced becasue it seems to work fine.

If it's happy at 8d leave it alone, and go on to other things.
Are you taking notes on what your doing?. If not, start, and look for trends on what makes the engine happy, NOT what makes you happy. Too much timing and too much fuel can feel fine to you, but be way off for the engine.

I hear ya. She feels better 8* really need to do some 1/4s with it see if theres a diff. The F'ed up thing is i was not getting knock or any signs of rich or lean mixtures. Yeah I'm pretty much taking notes as I go.
I have a question or two, I get knocks at my higher RPM's with the stock tables for the most part no much a little. I was wondering, so when it knocks the knock sensor kicks in and retards timing that takes away preformace right? I mean the time it takes the knock sensor to bump it back to normal. true or false?? Or is it so fast that it really would not do anything reason is I hate trying to get the damn tables prefect becasue my data logging sucks and cuts out because i have the crappy 165 ECM. Heres the deal my timing tables are pretty much stock but the lower RPMs I have bumpped up to 8* then 7,6,5,4,3,2 increases as my RPMs increase but my higher LV 190-208 I've taken out 3*2* only in my 4000-4800 rpm range something like that not to extreme. I tried to keep it within the standard format I guess you can say.
I can give you a pic of my stock and mod tables if this makes no sences. thanks man
