O2 Threshold adjustment question.
Ok... I have checked all the stupid things, fuel pressure set to 43psi, ignition, Injectors checked out, no vacuum leaks, ( actually had a friend that brought over a pretty cool vacuum leak tester that pressurizes the system from the TB back to 1psi and uses smoke, actually looked like the same consistancy of the fog machines Ive seen, to uncover leaks.)
Whats on my car is below my avatar...Car starts fine runs strong and idles a little rough but doesnt surge. Im using the stock bin and Ive got the upper tables nailed but cant seem to dial in the lower side so I figured its time to try the O2 thresholds as its clearly running rich at idle by the smell and plugs, but registering lean.
I figured I would start slow and gradually move them as needed but my question is... Say I start at the lowest two table values ( 0 and 8 ) and reduce by 10 mv. Its my understanding that this is equally reduced to all three tables ( O2 Zero Ref upper, O2 Zero Ref lower and the closed loop Rich/Lean threshold) Is this correct?
Thanks for looking
By the way... Did I mention that the prominator and TP are awesome?

Beullar?,
that would first suggest to me, that you'r running too much timing.
Or possibly having a miss.

AHHHH... a Ferris fan are we? lol
Hi Grumpy .... base timing set to the stock 6 deg btc....The bin stock timming has not been altered.
Went through the ignition system thoroughly ( cap, coil, pick-up , wires, rotor, plugs have all been replaced with no change) Pulled wires individually to test.. which resulted in a significant change for the worse. Also, even though the injectors were sent out for test and flow I also ohmed and pulled them to test.
Anywho... given all the tests have turned up nothing, the car is very responsive and the cam I have with 1.6 ratio rollers, it looks like im wrestling with an overlap issue that some have described and this is why I ask regarding the three tables.
Also, forgot to mention this, the vortec heads are the edelbrock e-tec aluminum vortec copies. Just mentioned this as I figured the stock timming should be fine for now given the application.
Grump, If you think Im wrong I will lower it to see if it changes as Im not one to blow off advise when its given. Just wanted to make sure you have all the info first. My mistake for not disclosing all the details.
Best regards,
Matt
