Black,
Stage means nothing, thats all a big marketing ploy by some of these companies to sell their stuff and make it look like its all prepackaged, bolt on simple.. I liken the "Stage -fill in number here- " chip to the 3/4 race cam of the 21st century. you tell a hotrodder that knows about cams that you have a 3/4 race cam what will they think?
Exactly... once you see more posts on this chip burning stuff youll see what I mean.

Worst case here ...
You can use a 305 prom for a 350 and like wise a 350 prom for a 305
HOWEVER !!!!!
They are not designed for this. The engine will run, but not the way it should.
Get a prom for the correct engine size and for the correct injectors and go from there.
As far as Stage 1 or 2 or 3, all these are is a guide for modifications. The chip really does not change, the other mods like themostat, EGR, etc make up the difference or allow slightly different calibrations. So if you use a Stage XXX chip, make sure you have the change done the manufacture wanted other wise there will be a mismatch and you could run in open loop all the time, or run too cold, etc.
Mark.

Yes, you can.. I've been using my stock 305 computer & carb on a mild 350, without an aftermarket chip. Runs pretty good, but I'm sure the chip will only make changes in timing and othe simple stuff, thats why I kept the original.

Most people on this board have experience with TPI and TBI. I'd lend some insight but know squat about q-jet. The best answers you'll get are probably what you already received.

I am very thankful for all the input I get, I always say thanks and some times I start a post just to thank people, So don't tell me about being cold,
I know you was'nt trying to be rude w/anyone else. You just did not get enough info to satisfy your head.As far as cold ,Traxion you left me with a cheesy snipe and no help on my post. The fact is yes a 350 will need a chip for a 350.The advance curve,m/c control etc needs calibrated for displacement.Yes a 305 prom will work but will loose at least 10 horses across the whole rpm band. There is the correct answer, anyone else?

Formula,
?? The answer that I gave was very applicable in this circumstance. I said that the best advice had probably already been given. This was 100% true. The advice that you just gave was already given ... hence the correctness of my reply.
