Datalogging w/Prototype USB Cable...Problems
As some know I was talking to ALDLCable.com about their upcoming USB ALDL cables. I recieved a prototype and it looks like a very good piece. Molded connector, resistor on the USB connector (can switch to GND A and B pins also) and no more bulk!!! Just one simple cable.
I'm having trouble getting it to work, however. I'm going to send it back and they should send me another but they tested it on 160 and 8192 BAUD cars and they said it worked for them.
If the cable is good what problems (with the laptop or the car) could I be having? The laptop is about a month old with XP Home on it.
I've tried everything I can think of...I'm getting 4.9 volts at Pin M with the key turned but Hyperterminal isn't getting any data and TunerPro RT isn't recognizing any hardware either.
When I use the resistor on the cable to GND the A and B pins its showing my codes so that part of the cable is working just fine.
Anyone
