VATS removal on tpi install in truck

I just put a tpi system in my 1989 C1500, I did not get a VATS module with my 7730 ecm and harness. Is the Vats system active through the ecm or the vats module. What do I have to do to disarm VATS if I only have the blue vats wire coming from the ecm?

I'm having the same problem. I bought an ECM and PROM from a 1986 'vette and found a day later that the VATS was installed in the 'vette starting that year. I don't have a PROM burner or a VATS unit, and the only effect the VATS seems to be having is that the injectors shut off after the engine runs for about 2 seconds. I found a link for an oscillator for the VATS circuit, but it is for a Passkey II system. I'm not sure if the older VATS can be handled similarly. For now, I'm screwed.

Well I'm sure one of us with access to a burner wouldn't mind burning a chip for you with the VATS removed. If you need this done... I would do it for you. Let me know.
