diacom and tbi

I have a 91RS and when I tried to run my diacom-p on it,it would not or could not connect to the ecm. No link was made. I also have a 86IROC that this same program works great on. Is there a problem here or am I doing something wrong? I have double checked my vin# and the program will bring up the correct year and engine type but it just won't link. Any sugestions will be helpful.
I tried to contact rinda tech. but their always busy and since this is for personal use they don't seem to want to help much.

Thanks, Steve

I have contacted Rinda on a couple occasions without problems. I definitely recommend talking to the experts ... them. However, I do have one suggestion:

1) You can search in THIS section of the messageboard on connecting via diacom and you'll find some interesting info. Do that first.

2) There is a special cable for use with TPI engines. There is a standard cable for use with non-TPI engines. Are you trying to use a TPI cable on your TBI? Sounds like it.

Tim, thanks for the info. It sounds that you are wright. I've been using the tpi cable for four years and now that I've got a tbi camaro I completely forgot about the other cable. I'll try it as soon as I get the chance.
