I wnted to know from the people who switched from the 32b ecm to the 6e did you unplug the cold start inj.? I made my chip by using a thermomaster chip for an 89 350 tpi and dissabling vats and (x) on the manual option and selecting 24# inj. now the car felt much slower and barly got second witch I can usually get third good. then the next day it would not start so I pulled the plugs and they were all fouled out I replaced them and installed a stock 88 350 chip and now it runs fine. what did I do? also with the thermomaster it seemed to chug at normal driving speeds 25-55mph speeds. it is almost like my car loves the stock chip. this is a moded car too I have my original 305 heads that were ported and polished and have 1.94" valves with a 5 angle valve job. 24# inj. 52mm throttle body. adjustable fuel reg. stock 350 tpi chip. dual filter air box from a Iroc, slp 1 3/4" headers, borla muffler. and slp roller cam 206/212 duration @.050" .480/.487 lift. aluminum drive shaft and wc t-5 trans.
I would think with all of this the car would respond well to a chip.

 

Did you or did you not unplug the cold start injector? You definitely want to unplug it.

I advise to just pull the whole darn thing and install a cold start injector plug kit. I recommend pulling the whole thing because the CSI could be leaking fuel or causing vacuum leaks. Just get rid of it entirely. At the very least - unplug it.

Where are these cold start injector plugs available? Do they include a plug for both the CSI mount on the runners and the fitting on the rear of the left fuel rail? How much are they generally?

 

Accel makes a block-off kit for around $50, but Street & Performance (www.tunedport.com) sells a kit for much less, maybe $25. All these kits consist of are a plug for the hole where the injector is and a plug for the end of the fuel rail where the cold start injector gets its fuel.

Do you think that a good hardware store would have the plug for the fuel rail?

To prevent the 9th injector from firing (opening) just pull the electrical lead to the injector.

I'm not sure, unless they have a good selection of plugs as this one is probably metric knowing GM. I have mine disabled by removing the 3-amp fuse labeled CNK (or something like that) from the fuse panel since it supplies power to the cold start injector in the TPI cars. Pulling the connector off of the injector will work too...

When I switched to 6e, I plugged mine with three nickels, a screw and a dab of sensor safe silicone sealant.
