Injector Constant Question
I have an 89 Vette and am running the $6E code. I am installing a 396 short block with a Miniram currently. I will be running 30 pound injectors. My question is do I set the injector constant to 30 pounds or do I leave it at the stock setting of 22 lbs. If I set it to 30 pounds, won't the computer treat the motor as a 350 in open loop? Should I start with a lower setting say 27 to start and then watch BLM's?

Not being an expert on the 6E, I believe that it has the same two basic constants that you will need to change. 1) The Injector Flow Constant as you have already discussed and 2) There should be a volume/cylinder constant.
With both of those, it will use that to calculate a correct injector pulse width.
But I also feel that you shouldn't lock yourself into 30#s in the injector flow constant just because you have 30# injectors. I only have 22# injectors on my L98, but I was running far too rich. I started to increase my injector flow constant in the "Constant Table" until it got a major "chunk" of my overly rich condition resolved and then I just tweaked the upper and lower part of my tables. (With 6E, you will have to look at your MAF scalars); but the principal is the same - use the injector flow constant to get you as close as possible to 128.
When I was finished, I found myself with my injector flow constant at 25#s. I had to add a little more fuel at the lower values and STILL remove a fair amount of fuel at the top values. I felt this was easier than leaving my constant at 22#s and yanking a ton of fuel from my tables. Either method will work. I was lazy and wanted to "globably" remove as much as possible.

The engine and plugs will tell you what is exactly right. Gotta test, and take notes.

Glenn and 89vette, there no volume/cylinder constant in the MAF bins since they are measuring the airflow directly.
I know Tim ran flowed 22lb injectors in his Mini-Rammed 350 and was running out of fuel on the top end, so you'll definitely need 30# injectors. I think he started with 33# for an injector constant since that's what the SVO injectors will flow at the GM pressure (which is higher than the Ford's pressure at which they measure the flow rate). Once you start there, you'll just need to watch the BLM's like you said and go from there...
