Injector Bank Drivers on MAF-165?

Folks/Bruce,

What are the specifics of the circuitry associated with the injector pulse generation drivers? Are they separate (left/right)? Is it even remotely possible for one bank to perform differently than the other? Say if a driver transistor had degraded? I'm pretty sure it's out of the question from a software perspective, I was looking for some insight to the hardare end. For instance, is the configuration such that if there was a problem with the ECM circuitry, you could have one side run rich & the other lean?

Any perspective on the facts would be most appreciated.

Thanks,
-Craig

There is only one channel. One set of drivers. All injectors are fired at the same time from the same source. Despite the fact that there are two wires leaving the ECM to the injectors, they are both wired to the same drivers internally.

Yep, but maybe just one driver.
730 / 165 are both single driver ecms
The 749 used two in the Sunbird application, and then just one in the sy application.
The sunbird uses 4 TPI (2.4 ohm) injectors.
FWIW

Was the purpose of this just to put each bank on a seperate fuse?

That and a circuit board trace, can just handle soo much current / heat.

With 4 working might get at least to the shilder of the road if something shorts out.

So on the 165, all injectors are fired simultaneously using a single triggering circuit which fires two driver transistors in parallel? Four injectors are handled by each transistor?

If that's the case, then the sets of four should respond identically, assuming nothing is wrong with the output stage. However, one output stage could die and leave you with four injectors. Is this right for the 165, or am I reading incorrectly??

Is this the end of the thread? No chance that one bank would behave differently than the other on a 165?
