BP Microsystems EP-1 Programmer

Does anyone have any experience with this programmer? Or have one?

I fell into one (was in a cabinet at work), and looked up the info....Says it will do 27c256 chips from 37 different manufacturers... has a serial 25db cable, and I was able to download the "latest" software for it, but was wondering if anyone was still using old stuff like this...

The brochure said it was made in 1989 haha..... But if I can make it work, who cares?

Thanks for any info.

I believe I successfully read my stock 86 prom...I will compare it this weekend to see if I did it right. I did not know what type of 27c128 chip manufacturer to choose for the GM chip, so I used the "generic" setting. What did you use? Also, what monitoring program are you going to use on your laptop? I resurrected an old Dell p75 laptop just for this purpose.

Thanks,

Mike

i used the "generic" setting as well. I am going to use "Freescan" by Andy Whittaker. I am swapping to a 749 ecu or possibly a 730 running 749 code. Picking up a 730 and harness connectors tomorrow...$20. Now to find a 749 and rewire the 165 harness. Bob

I figure I would keep the 165 for a while and run a modified ARAP code. Just till I get the hang of everything...I have the car running well right now, and want to keep it there.
