maf to map
maf to map
I would like to put a map sensor in instead of the maf!! the maf has a 4 port connector and the map has three. they have the same code's .. in theroy i can use three of my contacts for the map..?? Does anyone know of a reliable programer kit for flashing the prom. Or anyone reliable to flash my prom along with a dial in flash with all the mods i have into this bird >>>>> thank's

You need more than just the sensor to convert from MAF to MAP. You need the wiring harness, the computer, the PROM, a knock sensor, and several other assorted components. The two systems are not easily interchangeable. See Mike Davis' website at http://www.eecis.udel.edu/~davis/z28/ for details.

88...Unfortunitly switching from a MAF to MAP is not that simple. A MAF system uses a 165 ECM while the MAP system uses a 730 ECM. The harnesses will no interchange without repinning and adding various connectors, ei the 165 ECM has 2 connectors, a 24 and 32 pin, a 730 ECM has 3 connectors a 24 and two 32 pin connectors (1 black, 1 yellow). Also the Maf wiring and relay must be removed and the MAP wired in. The knock sensor is dependant upon which system is being used. This is not an easy task, as I am rewiring my car this weekend to a 730.
