I thought this would be the best board to find Diacom help...I tried to use the program for the first time on my 85 TPI Z and after it links it bounces between backup and diagnostic mode with no correct data coming through. (this is after I asked it for ALDL mode) When the header reads Backup mode the screen fills with a bunch of wrong data (like 6350rpm while I am at idle) Does anyone have any ideas? I am not using the TPI adapter since it's an 85 with the slow ecm. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Try using the proper cable.

 

I have tried using the TPI adapter #91007(for 86-89 cars) and it did not help. In case you are wondering this is not a bootleg setup, I bought it used and paid very good money for it.
