BLM Help
Hi All,
I am trying to program my 89 Firebird TBI motor. I have a scanner that gives me
one BLM at a time and doesn't tell me which BLM it is. Does the 160 baud data
stream give you all BLM's each cycle? Does anyone know what the data is that
comes out of a 746 ECU? Is it possible to get all the BLM's at once?
Am I crazy to try to get this to work? Should I cnahge to a 747 ECU or something? If so is there information on how to do it?
Thanks
Thanks

Bob, you SHOULD only see one BLM number at a time (also an INT#, not sure about your ecm). You should also see what cell# you are in too (again, this may be ecm dependent...my 7730 shows all three, but yours may not).
You only go into different BLM cells when you hit certain boundaries (MAP and RPM). You can alter those (on a 7730 for sure), to keep certain MAP/RPM ranges together. I found the stock settings tended to use to few of the BLM cells and concentrated more on just a few cells. By playing with the "thresholds", I now use all the cells under most driving condition.

Thanks for the reply. I don't see the cell number on the scanner I have. I wonder if it's a limitation of the scanner or if this older ECU doesn't have that information in the data out.I do see the Integrator number.
