Free software with cable i got

I got a cable from Ruse Electronics http://www.geocities.com/steve3034/cables.html and was wondering which of the free software would work with my 91 Z with the 730 PCM. I would prefer to have the ability to save my data. I was also wondering if this cable needs a power supply. Thanks.

My software should work fine for you -- I need more 730 testers out there!

Steve Ruse should be able to give you details on the power supply, probably you will not need one additionally.

Craig,

I'm hoping to have my system together in the next two weeks... I definitely appreciate the software and I'll be sure to give you any feedback...

I am running that cable from Ruse Electronics with Craig's software. The software works great. I have the 165ECM but I'm sure it will work just as well with the 730. Let me know if you want a sample of what the log prints out or some screen shots.

What if i build the "make it yourself" cable, could i still use Craig Moates software? the cable is found here. http://pweb.de.uu.net/pr-meyer.h/aldl.htm. And Why can't i download the free software that is on that page. I downloaded what i thought it was, and it didn't work.
