Why are we not aloud to ask about chip burning?
i was a new member several months ago and thought the same thing. i now agree with the all other chip burners and this is my reasons:
these guys spend hours and hours of reading, burning eproms, purchasing equipment, and major learning/discussions from all kinds of other gearheads doing the same thing. with this said, they build custom chips for there auto's and this takes large amounts of time to do this correctly. the chip is a signature of ones hard work and beggers usually want this for nothing because if they where willing to pay for this service they would be contacting fastchip, superchip, hypretech, etc. and not asking people on this board to do it for them, get my drift.
also, all engines are unique to a custom chip and you will never get a great running engine unless you learn and burn your own.
also, the learning process is great and valuable, nowone can ever take this away.
to summarize, purchase the scantools, burners, eproms, tuner editers, hex editors, read everything, search the posts and then ask questions to help you process the info for making your own chips. no one on this board will burn one for you. go see the custom shops pal.
don't take offense this is the way it is....imo anyways.

I share about everything I know or have discovered for a grand reimbursement of nada. When I see some clown making money of what I've discovered, it kinda urks me. I do what I do cause I love cars, and want folks to have threir ride, right. It's also very educational. You want to turn this list into a commercial thing, fine, I'll be gone. If you research EFI and DIY, look around for Grumpy, nacelp, plecan, and get back to me and say I haven't done much for DIY EFI. Not to long agao, I and several friends hac'd the 747 using an ecm bench and logic. No reverse engineering, bit by bit went thru the chip changing things and seeing what happened. That was months of work. As folks saw that work was going on and Public Domained, is when Tunercat, and GMEPro came to life.
Lots of work has been done, and some of the guys here are starting to put the hours in and see how much work goes into things. They share cause they like to.
If all you want is some generic stuff, or novice guessing, you might as well just hand your money over to a commerical chip vendor.

Simply put ... there is a section of thirdgen.org for buying and selling. This section is called the classifieds. Go there. This PROM board is one of the places that many programmers consider a safe-haven. Its a place where we can go to discuss the complexities without worrying about buying/selling. This forum use to be private. We opened it up so others could lurk and learn.
