7747 to 165? well acually 8063 to 165?

? I can swap out my 747 ecm for the 165? They look like the same pin out, (except for anti theft). But what about the program(bin)? Will it go into a different eprom?
I would like to do this only for the 8192 baud.
Thanks

You'd need to give a very detailed description of what you're controlling with that ECM before anyone could tell you whether or not you'd be able to have any success with the 165. I'm assuming that you've got some sort of TBI setup, and I know of at least one TBI motor that used the 165 (S-truck Iron Duke) so it at least sounds remotely possible..

ok here is a short story long...
Originally : 1228063, TBI, 305, auto.
Now: 350(still putting in, will be done Friday)(and still has to go through the breakin process)
I was told to buy a 7747 because it is easier to program. so i got one and The pocket programmer will be here tomarrow, and the extra eproms will be here Sat. One DIY ftp site I say a JPG that was labeled "747 to 165". mmmmmmmmm (I would like The faster baud rate since I haven't changed anything yet.)
Well not sure what else you need to know, but what do ya think? If ya look at the pics they seem to be the same (wire for wire) But will it program the same?
Thanks

The 165 only has one injector driver, and was only used with a 4 cyl TBI.
So no you can't run a v8 TBI off of it.

All of the C3 series of ecms have very similiar wiring.

oh ok thanks.
one last question for ya.
I'm not sure where to start, (bin file) for the new 747. I have read alot of different ones are good for different apps. where should I start.
once again I have 350, TBI, 700R4, AC, Smog.
I'm gonna guess AKAL.
thanks for all the help

AKAL is from '87. I'd start with something newer, like ASDU or ASDZ.
