$6E tuning questions
I am having a rough time getting everything figured out with tuning. I know that I need to adjust my BLM's and I am going to address that right after I figure something else out. I have done some searches on knock counts and knock retard. I am getting what I think is detonation. If the ecm is picking up knock and I see knock retard being applied in my data logs, is that the amout of spark advance that I should be pulling out. I think Vernw mentioned something to a guy about pulling the spark out prior to where the spark retard is being done by the ecm.
Can someone verify this for me. I have included the .csv file from one of my latest datalogs. Once again I know a lot of adjustments need to be done, so please be kind.
Any assistance the board can offer is welcome. Thanks.

Set all constants as exact as possible.

U need to pull more timing out to get rid of knock than you would if the knock hadnt existed in the first place. Its called knock hysterisis.
30 degree and no knock is better than 32 and 4 degree knock no?
Also by the time u see it and the computer is retarding, it has happened in an even earlier point of the datalog. Always try pulling out some timing and adding fuel at and before the occurence.

I tried to open the attachment, but it only shows chinese characters. Maybe your ecu was made in china?? hehehe.
RednGold I reposted the file as a .txt file. Hopefully you can view it now. What I have done since my last post is to change the ARAP spark table values to the AUJM spark values. Big mistake the car ran poorly. I switched back and it runs better. The car does run strong with the ARAP bin with the injector values adjusted to my #24 injectors. I am still just a little concerned about the knock counts and knock retard that is going on. Once again if anyone can review my attachment and provide some adjice I would appreciate it alot. Thanks.

You must have done something else wrong to make AUJM spark tables run poorly. Look at sample 841, you're getting 11.2 degrees of retard, which results in 9.52 degrees total advance. There's no way that AUJM, which has less timing, could possibly run worse. Check your base timing at the distributor first, then use the compare feature in tunerpro to see what you did wrong when putting AUJM spark table into the other bin.

Sorry I should mention that the attachment from my last post included the datalog from the origional ARAP bin file. My laptop battery is cooked and I was not able to log yesterday. I wasn't able to get a read on how the AUJM spark table behaved.
Oh I also did make use of the compare feature and there were no differences. All the values did match. What are your thoughts on the knock that were occuring?? Are they happening to frequently or does everything look alright???

Way too much knock for my tastes. It's taking soo much timing out. Like 3.8 says, knock can require more retard to eliminate knock, than running a good table that doesn't produce knock in the first place.

I am running a modified ARAP on my 395 stroker. For the timing map, I had some knock retard. I got rid of it by determining the area of the timing map where the knock occurred and reducing that zone by 2 degrees.
