CrossFire Retrofit... ('7747)
Just wanted to share this with y'all over here - I just got done retrofitting my '82 Corvette (CrossFire) with a '7747. Rather than cut the original harness (which is what Turbo City would have you do) I made a pair of PCB's that are identical to the edge-connectors on the original ECM, and soldered pigtail wires off the '7747 onto it.
Here's a pic of the final result;
With this, I can just "plug and play" with the '7747. If there's a problem, I can revert back to the original ECM (but why would I want to?!) The PCB's are the same thickness as the original ECM's edge-connectors, so there isn't an issue of the contacts being intermittent.
I've since made Peter Gargano's 160 baud ALDL reader circuit (one transistor, two resistors) and I'm reading in ALDL data from the new ECM just fine.
The car runs great; no major glitches and strangely enough, not even a check engine light. It needs to be tuned obviously, but with the help of TunerCat and Peter's ALDL stuff (and an Excel spreadsheet I'm creating) I should be able to tune pretty quickly. Hopefully this spreadsheet and Peter's hardware/software combo will help everyone out that's using a 160 baud ECM.
Thanks VERY much to Grumpy for providing us (me!) with all the information both public and private to make this happen!

That's awesome! I love seeing people that are keeping their Crossfire setup going. It's got more potential than most people give it credit for.
