Will disconnecting the EGR on a '92 TPI throw a code?

Going to be disconnecting the EGR in my new engine buildup and was wondering if it will throw a code? This is on a '92 TPI Speed-density.
I think the EGR is just pulsed with no feedback.
Thanks

I'm not running the same ECM, but my experience is that you will get a code. I disabled the EGR valve and the engine knocked during part throttle driving.

During EGR operation the ECM adds timing (6° in my case)and cuts fuel. This results in detonation when the EGR valve is disabled.

Proper elimination of EGR requires disabling the EGR routine in the PROM.

Search this board on EGR for more info.
