burning products
I am looking to buy the things I need to burn my own chips. Does anyone here have anything they are not using or have upgraded from? I read Traxions article and got me in the mood to start tuning on my new combo. Or better yet a company or person who can get me hooked up with everything that I would need.

Tim has links in the article of where to get everything. It isn't readily apparent, but if you move the cursor over the some of the descriptions and prices, you will see some highlighting and if you click on it, it will take you to the website.
For a Burner, I went with the Pocket Programmer because it is one of the cheapest ones that work of the Parallel Port. I have a notebook, so I cannot add a card.
For a BIN Editor, I went with TunerCat. You can download the program to work for 30 days and then you just use PayPal (link is on Tunercat's site and they explain how to do it). Just tell TunerCat which TDF you want and they e-mail you the TDF and the password to the program.
If you have MAF or SD, you don't even need a UV Eraser. Just get an AT29C256 Flash Prom and it erases electronically. The advantage of a Flash Prom is it is VERY QUICK to erase (seconds) and it last virtually indefinitely. A typical Eprom only is good for 25-50 burns and it takes longer and longer each time to properly erase. So far, I have reburned my Flash Prom 135 times and it is still going strong. It is only pennies more than a regular eprom. There is a "group purchase happening" for the Flash Proms. Just look for the various posts on the "Group Purchase of AT29C256s", I believe they are going to place an order on Tuesday.
Go to this link for the Group Purchase https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/...ML/001876.html
Now that you have read Tim's article, I strongly encourage you to read all of the posts starting from the oldest and working backwards. MANY questions that you may have will already have been answered, including questions that you haven't even thought of. Just set the "topics" on the search to the oldest setting.
