ADS chip Q

i'm helpin out a friend with a 92 305 tbi camaro, and we're about to buy a new computer with an ADS super chip already installed. i am having trouble finding any info on what exactly the chip does, and if ADS has a website. i tried searchin around the forum here with not much luck.

Well, with the ADS chip I believe you get a daughter board that looks a lot like the Moates piggyback board. So you will not have to buy one of those with the rest of your tuning gear. You might also be able to use their chip as a repository for your chip burning. Not worth much else though, hopefully you didn't have to pay too much extra to get the ADS chip.

The chip does basically nothing. Maybe a couple of degrees extra spark, a little extra fuel. However, typcially the stock eproms are already too rich, so the extra fuel is not necessary. As for the extra spark, often the stock engine is prone to "detonation" and extra spark often results in the knock sensor pulling out more spark than it added. (Basically 1 step forward, 2 steps back).

Lastly, some of those chips also require a cooler T-Stat.

You are better off with the stock eprom.
