Should my TPS be at 10% at idle????

I got the "JoBy" 160 baud scanner working and the latest update installed. It reads that my TPS is open 10% at idle. I stepped up the idle vs. coolant. Could it be pulling the throttle plates open?

Could it be pulling the throttle plates open?

No it does not work that way.

You need to adjust the TPS.

Oh, I meant the intake air going by might be pulling the plates open.

I once saw that happen when a friends IAC failed in the park position. We couldn't figure out why it wouldn't start until you hit the gas, but then it idled fine but sounded like a jet taking off. Reason, once you got it going the air was forceing the plates open.

Just a guess. My TPS is not adjustable, what now?

There was a problem in one of the earlier version. Check Joby's web page for a later version that corrects this1

The volts are really what you want to look at - it's just taking a percentage based on the volts. .5v (normal TPS idle setting) is 10% of 5v (full throttle/WOT.)

So yes, that's normal and nothing is wrong.
