I dont seem to have a table that will let me change the desired idle in gear from 800. Am I just missing something or is this just not here. The reason I want to do this is because of underdrive pullies. I was thinking if I bumped up the idle in gear to 875-900 I could get rid of this problem. Right now it is at 800.

89 IROC-Z 355 10:1 , AFR 190 heads, LT4 HOT cam w/ 1.6 roller rockers, complete Superram intake, 58mm BBK TB, 24# svo injectors, screens out of MAF, MAT relocated, March underdrive pulleys, Streetdampner, Crane HI-6 ignition, 160 thermostat, K&Ns, TES headers(Jet hot coated), 3" Random Tech cat, Mufflex 4" cat back, B&M shift Kit, 2500 converter, 3.27s, and 4-wheel disc. Chip is custom(doing it myself). 2 1/2 Harwood and just painted.

Take the pullies off.
They do the exact opposite of what the engine needs.
Lower idle voltage makes for poor injector response.
Slowing the water pump will allow for more localized overheating within the cylinder head and actually make the engine more detonation prone, and more likely to crack the heads between the valve seat areas.

there still should be a idle in neutral and an idle in gear set of tables. Maybe called something related to IAC opening

Traxion reported a similar problem with his SD car: When you adjust the "desired idle speed vs coolant temp" and then put the vehicle in gear, IF the desired idle speed is > 800 rpm, the ECM will NOT all the idle speed to exceed 800 rpm.

With further investigation, it was found that there is "hardwired" code that checks if the vehicle is not in park/neutral, and the desired idle speed is > 800 rpm, then the ecm forces the idle speed to be 800 rpm.

When Tim was able to find that "hardwired" address and change the "test and set", Tim was able to increase the "max idle speed when in gear". Tim needed this because he has a long duration cam and wanted his idle higher so he would have enough vacuum.

Obviously, the 6E (and probably the $32) also has similar code as the SD regarding idle speed and not being in Park/Neutral.

PS: When I say "hardwired", I mean their is no constant or table. The actual "test and set" constant is "embedded" within the actual instruction.

In Tuner Cat's latest $6E .tdf file there is a place in the ECM constants to add rpm for park/neutal and idle speed adder for A/C.

I would take the pullies off but I have no idea where the old pullies are. I think I have the crank pulley so I might put that on and get a longer belt and see what happens. I just cant stand seeing my car running off the battery at idle instead of the alternator!
