Got my equipment... Learning how to use it...

Ok I just got all my equipment in the mail today minus a scan tool of some sort... Still not sure what to do about that (??) Anyway I have the pocket programmer and eraser as well as some extra chips, a second memcal with a second piggyback adapter. A modified eprom for my year (2.59 gears I have 2.79) Another eprom off of a hypertech and a baggy full of reg proms... (thought they were eproms ) Anyway Im trying to get the pocket programmer to read one of the chips I have so Ill be ready for when I get tunercat but cant really figure out how to loud the file The .txt file is wordy can some guys help me out with the basics?
