my 6.6l

My understanding for prom burning increases w/ everyday. My bin from 4 days ago is alot different then today. The 89 bin does work better than the 87.I want to thank everyone that have helped me,esp glenn. It's funny because I find myself helping others with the info I have learned.Giving something back ya know. The info I help with is age old prom baisics.Questions seasoned burners are tired of replying to.I enjoy answering because its fresh in my memory. Its a great to lend a hand to help someone up.But for now I am the one that needs more help.I have a scan tool and will map out my actual grams per second. What would be the ideal way to do that?In first or second or idle? What points would be best to record,500-1000-1500-2000rpm etc..I also have reduction in power at 60+.It could be because its retarding the timing about 10d on the highway.I am not talking about wot, more like part throttle.I lowered the part throttle max retard to 4d.It still takes out 10d.

When you say it's retarding the timing 10d, do you mean "knock retard"? If so, and it's taking out 10d, address eliminating the knock. You should be able to reduce the timing at your problem area in the "spark advance vs. load vs. rpm" table.

Greg, if you decide to stick with the $6E, why not look into running Craig Moate's software (it's free, just have to make or buy a cable) and then you can capture a lot more data which can be imported into Excel for further manipulation?

Glad you're having fun with eprom burning and that it is giving you the results that you were hoping for. Just out of curiousity, do you now feel that even MAF users should optimize their eprom?

I personally feel my eprom burning equipment should have been the FIRST modification for my car. I have made more gains (performance wise) from my eprom burning than my other "bolt-ons" AND I am getting better gas mileage too.

You're definitively right... It might take some time in the beginning, but the reward of a well running car is worth every minute of work.

The world of EFI is truly an interesting one to explore, and with Craigs scanner software it got alot easier to find where timing needs to be changed, and many other important things.

By the way, thanks for helping me get started on the Highway mode stuff in the 6E code earlier this summer Glen!

(Hope you're not still pissed if I got a bit annoying for a few weeks).
