best hand held scanner for the money

I have the 8746 ecm in my 91.What is the best
stand alone scanner for the money that will give me meaningful info?( don't have a laptop for now) I have been borrowing my friends Vetronix Tech 1 up to now but I need to get something of my own.
I don't plan on doing any other work than just completing this project once and for all. Thanks very much for your thoughts.......bob

For the price of a handheld scanner you can get a laptop and use the winaldl freeware. Then when you're done with your setup, sell the laptop. You'll get a better return with the laptop than with the hand held unit.
