Prom question

I recently misplaced my prom for my camaro that's been apart and need to get a new one. While reading on here in the past I read about the problem with the 86 proms. I found the p/n for the replacement prom (1228291) and was going to purchase that until I read some other people's suggestion to run a 1988 prom for even better factory GM tuning. Looking through the list of proms I picked this one: 16082183 for a 88 305tpi AT with 3.23. Now here is the question. I swapped for a 700r4 to a TH350 a long time ago. I was wondering if I could use the prom: 16082422 88 305tpi MT with 3.45. That 16082422 prom was for the hotter cam and i figure the spark and fuel tables would be better then the 16082422 prom. Does anyone see a problem with this?

Thanks for your help,

-Jim

It's the 1989 that is preferred, not the 1988.

the 89 is prefered for the arap, but since my car is an 86 it has cold start and no vats. I have no prom burning equipment so, I can't turn off the vats in the 89 prom. The best for me is a 88 chip.
