please help..stabilizing cold start idle

hi all..i have the following problem...when starting my car cold, i have to coax it with the throttle, other wise it dies....when the temperature comes up, i can go off the throttle..other way round, i opened the throttle blades more, so the cold idle is ok, but it gets too high, when the engine warms up..my IAC counts are 160 when cold, so i think maxed out, and about 50 when hotis there something i can do?thank you

During a warm idle (fully up to temperature) set the throttle blades so there is about 10-15 IAC steps. Then shut the engine off, wait 10 seconds and re-start. The idle should come down to what it is set at. You may need to get the vehicle over 35 MPH to reset the IAC.

thank youits that simple?is it possible, when i open the TB blades, that the IAC counts wont go down below 40?i also lowered the IAC learn coolant temp between 50 and 104°C seems to be more reasonablealso, theres an Table IAC warm park position vs coolant temp...there are some fixed steps depending on temp.....can you give me an explanation of this?thank you!

As you open the blades the TPS is also increasing. What happens is that the ECM now believes that it is no longer in idle and stops controlling the idle speed. Just need to shut off the engine and restart after 10 seconds.

Sometimes it is easier to open the blades too far while the key is off. Then start the engine, wait a minute for things to sabilize, then close down the blades a little at a time while watching the IAC counts.

I think that the warm park position is where the IAC moves to at key-on. This is the crank position.

IAC min position is for a stall saver in 8D.
I've never looked to see what it defaults to after a reset.
