wb o2 q's from a newbie
Ok I've been looking for a wideband o2 to help aid in my quest for good tuning. From what I've read the Innovative LC-1 standalone is probably the 'best' out of the box product avaliable, yes? Retails around $399, comes with a $200 XD-16 gauge.
Would it work just as well with a autometer guage for less then 1/2 price? Would it be plug and play with an autometer?
Lastly, this is a standalone system, is it compatable with tunercat or other programs for easy datalogging etc? ...or do I need to buy all of their other products like the auxbox, etc.
Thanks guys!

The autometer uses a "narrowband". And you need to have operate standalone. But that isn't bad, because it captures both the RPM & O2 readings at a much quicker rate than the ECM can provide, so it's better for tuning IMO.
TunerCat is only for modifying the bin and completely different. And a Scan Tool is different again. When I was helping another buddy we had the WB (Innovative) operating while also using Diacom for monitoring and TunerCat R/T for the "on-the-fly" tuning. But we had two people doing this.
If it's just yourself, you would capture you WB readings and scan tool readings...compare them at home and then make the appropriate changes when you get home. (As you cannot drive & monitor & change on-the-fly at the same time...or you shouldn't be anyway).
