Car: Bone stock 1989 Iroc T-Top,1991 Z28

recommend a bin
Need a little help here guys. I have a 91 z28 roller that I'm in the process of building. It has the wiring harness in it but no ecm. From reading, I need to get a 730 ecm. The motor going in the car is a 383,AFR 195,HSR,58mm TB,Comp cams xfi 280,1.6 rr,30# svo injectors. Behind it a T-56. What would be a good bin to start with just to get the car running. I have Moates Autoprom so I can tune it. Thanks.

This is going to be my first tune. What are the BDLD fuel tables? I'm goona "play" with the Autoprom on my '89 Iroc.

I was going to recommend the S-AUJP but it's primarily an "Auto" bin and you'll have enough "tuning fun" just with your setup without the added fun of makeing an Auto bin work on a Standard.
If you go with the T-56, do some searches on adjusting the VSS Constant byte to re-calibrate your speedo. Your setup is EXACTLY what this Byte is intended for....large Vehicle Speed Pulse changes. You cannot adjust the ECM for rear-gear changes, but you can when you go to a T-56 as it uses a 40,000 ppm VSS (IIRC) instead of the normal 4,000 ppm VSS.

I would strongly consider SAUJP. Shoot JP or Z69 a email regarding the standard tranny concerns. I believe they incorporated some manual tranny idle code in the bin and it should not be an issue. If you are ever going to do any WBO2 logging, remove the EGR, CCP, etc then look into it. There is a lot of custom code in the bin that makes it head and shoulders above the rest. Also if you look at the schematics the Vette bins incorporate a oil temp that is incorporated with the coolant temp for fueling strategies. You can see it in the wiring schematics.

I'm sure someone has done this combo before. I plan on getting my "feet wet" on the Iroc. Extremely green on this whole tuning thing. I learn alittle everyday I read here. What would be the "easiest" starting point for this combo just to get it to run. I have alot of time and a decent chunk of change put into this combo and I wouldn't want to damage the engine upon start up/break in. I have been arguing with friends about the whole injection thing. It would be easier just to slap a carb and intake on this combo, but I like the drivability of the FI. Besides, if I wanted a carb, I would buy a Harley!
