New fuel injectors and programming

I installed a set of 30's in my car up from the 24's that were in there. I have changed the injector constant and was wondering if that was all that required changing at this point?

I asked that question a little while ago. The advice I received was to scan the car during operation and check your readouts to see if you're running rich or lean. Then adjust accordingly.

For sure I will do that. I am however more worried about right now. I just put the new injectors in and what to drive the car. I was wondering if it would be okay to just change the injector constant to get the car running. I have also heard that I can turn the fuel pressure down and use the same tune??

I think you can drive the car ok. The computer has some ability to trim fuel on its own in closed loop. IIRC, its in open loop where you'd be rich if the tables are not adjusted for the bigger injectors. Though, someone here with more expertise should correct me if I'm wrong about that.

I wouldn't turn down your fuel pressure.

Change the constant and scan the car, should be fine

You may have to change the AE some.

Re: New fuel injectors and programming

Well I changed the fuel injector constant on the chip and installed. Something is wrong because as soon as I key up the ignition the cooling fan comes on full. Any ideas?? I am going to revisit the bin, and make sure i programmed into the right location.

The chip didn't get programmed properly. Make sure you're putting it in backwards in either the PROM burner or the memcal.

You may want to multiply your start up pw table by 24/30 or 22/30 if it's a stock table.
