Turning on knock sensor in prom?

A friend is running a bin that has the knock sensor disabled and I want to enable it for him 1227747 ECM. He physically has the sensor installed and hooked up. I've done a search and read what I could find on this and read something about a knock filter built into the chip? What's that about? Also is there a flag that needs to be switched to enable the sensor, I didn't see one that said anything about knock. I've compaired the bin he has to ASDU and see that a couple of his tables have been zeroed out. I plan to just copy the ASDU bin knock tables, would there be a problem doing this? Is there anything I'm overlooking?
Thanks!

Re: Turning on knock sensor in prom?

Did a compare bin on all of the knock tables that I'm aware of. Many had the same values and a few did not. The ones that were differnt are "max knock retard in degrees", "PE knock retard in degrees", "knock retard attack rate", "knock retard recovery rate", and "knock retard temp cutoff threshold". Most notable is "knock retard temp cutoff threshold. On the bin he's running this has a value of 255 as compaired to 131 of the ASDU bin. Could this be the value that was used to turn off the knock sensor? Also the knock retard recovery rate for the ASDU bin has a value of 429.69 in the 400 RPM slot as compaired to 33.2 of the current bin. This one value seems kind of strange, could it be a mistake somehow?
My friend I'm doing this for installed a TBI system on his Jeep and has been frustrated to the point of wanting to sell it due to poor performance. I did a data log and basic fuel adjustment along with some basic adjustments, IAC, TPS, Timing, and it is running better so far but would really like to get the knock working.
Thanks, any input on any of this would be great!

Re: Turning on knock sensor in prom?

OK I've figured out that I must also turn on the malf flag at Ox50F bit 5. Should be code 43 knock sensor right?
I've also found a bin that closely matches the bin I'm working with. AKAR seems to fit much better than ASDU.
Someone must have some more input on this stuff?

Could someone at least please tell me how I can tell if the knock sensor is working by looking at a data log? Yes there are knock counts in the knock table but mine has them too and I don't have a knock sensor.
