Tunning literature?

Ok guys I have never been one to beg, but I admit I need a little help here. There has got to be literature out there to help someone like me tune. Basic theory I suppose, but also all the tables and variables that are tunable and their meaning. Alot of this stuff I look at and scratch my head. Someone out there has to know where I can read and learn for myself.

Thanks,
Craig

Re: Tunning literature?

Just take a look up in the stickies above. If all else fails then just do an advanced search of every thread Rbob ever posted because I think he has answered every question about theory and how it applies to the real programming. Mangus pretty much has covered all the tuning software I can tell. Check out prominator and Moates sites for hardware stuff. Or do a search of whatever question you may have or post what your stuck on.

Re: Tunning literature?

Thanks for the reply. I have all the hardware. I have some scanning software, and have tuner pro and flash n' burn to program. I have poked around in the programming a little bit, but I have some hard time finding all the different variables. I will for sure keep searching, as this message board I have found is the most informative.

Thanks again,
Craig

Re: Tunning literature?

this is the best DYI prom tuning board you will find anywhere
the learning curve is pretty steep, there is a lot of reading to do.
i started by reading all of the stickies 2 or 3 times that applied to my ECM. then i got TunerPro & started to play around with it & did some more reading.
i got my AutoProm & burned my first chip to fix my speed reading, turn VATS off, & lower my fan temp. then i read some more.

in addition to RBob, you will want to read the tuning articles & most every post made by Grumpy which you can find up in the stickies. there are a good number of others here who have posted some great reading, honestly, there are just too many to list.
for those just starting out, i do recommend "Come in for a FREE tune!!!!" by BMmonteSS in the TBI stickies.

when your eyes are bleeding from reading, you have made a good start, did i mention there is a lot to read here?
