Removing EGR from a '165 MAF System
Hey all,
I'm using TunerPro and looking to delete the EGR function. Car in question has a '165 MAF running on $6E code. It looks like the only EGR-related functions are "EGR Enable if EGR > X and EGR Duty Cycle = 0" AND "Disable EGR if MAT < X". What do I do with these two settings, and is there a way to disable the SES function for Code 32?

For the EGR just set the MAT enable temperature to max. Usually 150 C or so.
For code 32 there are malfunction masks. Look for the one with code 32 in it and uncheck the box.

Hi RBob,
Thanks for the response! After a bit more searching, I did what you suggested, and cranked the MAT temperature way up. I drove the car about 30 miles tonite with a lot of light throttle cruise on the highway (primetime for EGR activity) and there was no SES light. I will see if it does come up, but I think I'll be in the clear.

Re: Removing EGR from a '165 MAF System
i drove my car without egr and no chip burn for a few days and no SES light came on. car seemed to run better but i never really measured gas mileage afterwards
after my chip burner came in, i did the Disable EGR if MAT < X setting. i changed it to the highest number setting
there is also a table for EGR cycle duty..... some values are 0, some are 99%. change all to 0% and the EGR should never come on
