Will the PP2 program a socketed LT1 ECM?
A friend of mine just had his 94 LT1 ECM socketed and asked me if I can program his flash chips on my PP2.

What did he replace them with? It might. Check xtronics.com for the suppported chips, or within the programmer software itself.

If he's using 29C256 or 29C512 chips then most definitely you can.

Some people go with the Intel chip and some go with the Atmel chip. Overall, if you have a PLCC adapter then you can do it. It has been a while but I thought the entire bin was 128K and the ECM put the proper 64K into the right chip. Do you know how to break up the 128K bin for eack 64K chip?
Re: Will the PP2 program a socketed LT1 ECM?
Nope, I just have the 128k file from tunercat. Plus the t/e side 64k raw dumps. Guess it's possible to look at the start of the 128k file and compare it to the start of both 64k files. I'm not good at assembly but could recognise that. The first part might have bootloader, that is what I'm interested in.
Really, I think a 5v flash chip could work. The circut board will supply 12 volts. If it doesn't blow the chip out, all should be fine. I have seen several devices actually run better with more voltage (and never get damaged).
