Normally you will not get any response on these kind of request because this forum is call DIY (do it your self) and is the intention that you first look at the stickies threads and than after that you come with other kind of questions.
2)
This is a serious forum and not a kid game, so please don't miss use the size of you question.
3)
425 HP is OK for a talk with your friends, but very difficult to achieve in the real world. In particular if you don't know how to find you BIN number.
My advise is to read all the stickies and with the information that I give you down bellow you will have a jump start.
Don't think that "Our world is your world" it will be yours if you play according the rules.
Perhaps you think that I sound like your Dad, remember? when he say, "Read the damn books"?
Sorry if it sound a bit annoying but I can tell you that is the reality of this forum.
"I want it and I want it now" doesn't count here. But you are always welcome because we know that we learn from each other.
So don't be afraid and follow the next valuable information bellow:
I have had a engine from 87 LB9 that was running the ABUT8562 (mask is 32B)
If your label is broken at the ECM box you can try to open the lid and check the Mencal there you will find the EPROM number at the silver sticker on top of the EPROM (Chip) There is window at the blue plastic cover of the memcal.
If this information can't be find, for some reason, you can go to the great Moates site, as mentioned at the stickies, and there you can download the "only DOS" working software, call "ECM852 Serial DOS-Based ALDL Software"
http://www.moates.net/index.php?cPath=33
This will download your actual BIN code at your ECM so that you can open with TunerPro (also mentioned at the stickies, at:
http://www.tunerpro.net/
Moates has also a server with lots of EPROM (BIN files) there you can find the directory "Stock Binaries" and under that directory you will find the "DIY-EFI GMECM Binaries" there you can select you ECM number and you will find the Stock BIN files, is a good stuff to start to play.
You have a ECM with the number 1227165
These has use the Mask's 32; 32B; 6E; 94
Yours would be probably the 32B because it is 87 and has the 9th cool start injector.
But if you want to use the most common 6E mask (no 9th injector), the only thing that you need to do is disconnect the 9th injector.
Best regards,

Wow...Thanks. Didn't mean to offend. Lesson Learned. I learned alot about proms today and what you say sounds about right. The only thing i would have to say is that my dad was never around to give me that memo but thanks for setting me strait.

Re: Cannot ID Prom. Help Please!
Hi,
I quick search and did found that the ABUN is a Fedral BCC (Broad Cast Code) and that the ABUT is a California BCC
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/post...201-post4.html
Now it is time to find the BIN and start to play with TunerPro.
I found this information too, I am shore that you will find interesting.
http://www.gmtips.com/3rd-degree/dox/tips/ecm/prom.htm
Now you can check this site and select the $32 because that way ($32) id the most used to mention the mask and is the way that the EPROM is programed.
At this site you will find the HACK of the BUA/9340 that is equivalent to yours.
http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/S...g/do_tune.html
Download and take notes.
See what it say at the comments (write-up after the ;)
Learn that your 1987 LB9 will communicate via the ALDL with 160 & 8192 BAUD
You know those kind of things are the ones where you start.
Of course after you have mass your brains you need to take some brakes and give the change to assimilate.
After you have (dry) play around for a wile you can go to the next step. Get some cheap equipment to communicate with your ECM via the ALDL and get some data logs to see how your drive looks.
At the stickies you will see a lot of equipment that you can buy to be able for the next step, that would be change the contents of you EPROM (bin file) and load into your car.
Enjoy as much as I did but never make so much mistakes as I did.
Last thing, never forget to appreciate the hard work that people did here at this forum.
Soon you will find name of the ones that are the most dedicated. (not me!)
If I can help you let me know, but don't expect more than a Dummy level!
