Hard starting when cold..
hi all
i started my Vette yesterday, behavior is the following...
outside temp is about 41°F...
i start, the engine coughs a bit, i give a bit throttle, the engine catches and run immediately..once the engine is just a bit warm, no more "start up" throttle is necessary
when its warm outside, the engine also starts immediately..
so i think, its just a small problem, which table in $8D i should look for?
engine is a 396 with 230/236XFI cam, SP EFI , 30#injectors and 10.8 to 1 comp.
this is, what my crank fuel pulse vs coolant temp look like
thank you

Re: Hard starting when cold..
Hi and thank you
my dumb queston now: how can i do this?
my IAC counts are pinned at 160 counts when my engine is idling cold...and, AFAIK more than 160 is not possible...when hot, IAC is about 60 counts idling
thank you

Re: Hard starting when cold..
Readjust the IAC per this article. If your normal idle speed is higher (due to modifications), set the IAC idle speed to 50-100 rpm less than your normal "full warmed up" idle speed. The idle speed for the IAC is the article is for a "stock engine" and too low for a modified engine.
