? when datalogging

I was able to finally get Winaldl to connect to my 6026 ecm. So far I only am getting info from in the first four rows of the raw data screen. Shouldn't it be reading information in all the screens? Every other tab: BLM,o2 and so on are just 0's.
I used the second print with no exteranal 12 v supply when building my DIY cable.

Re: ? when datalogging

That means it isn't receiving/decoding the remainder of the packet. Usually a cable issue. Try both 2400 and 4800 baud, sometimes one works and the other doesn't.

Re: ? when datalogging

Thanks RBob, I changed my cable so I could supply it to a seperate 12V source: I set everything up so its on a small circuit board so its easier to solder. Well this time when I hooked it up I got two more rows on the raw data screen but again nothing else. This is when I switched to the 4800 baud rate.
The small box up at the top of the program window thats near the version number of the software... what does that box do? when on 2400 baud, its green with the number 5...
When 4800 is selected it turns red and goes through different numbers and blinks

Re: ? when datalogging

IIRC, it is the number of bytes from each packet that get received. Typical ECMs of that era will send 20 bytes per packet, a packet every 1.8 seconds.

Re: ? when datalogging

Thanks that helps.
Well good news, I got it!!
Now I have so much data I don't now where to start of even what to look for. I guess I better start using the search feature.
Are there any links available for the definitions for winaldl?
Or definates in general.
thanks

I ended up having to use the R3 resistor. If I had read the directions in its entirity I would have seen that it says you may need to use the R3 resistor.
Good luck
