193 and afr timing?
193 and afr timing?
trying to do some comparing.. but what should max timing be with a well built motor(flatop pisitons total seal rings forged crank and rods) with 193 tbi heads....and then with my heads..my heads are.AFR180cc i was wondering really how much the tbi heads could take for a friend with pretty much the same motor i have but with tbi heads 193(ported) and really how much timing i can run with my heads....someome told me with tbi heads you can run around 28-30* and should have it all in by 3200rpm and with my afr they say 32-36* with it all in by 3600rpm note both motors have compression of tbi (9.5-1) and mine 9-8-1 also what should a good timing tabel look like.... i tune with the ostrich and the ecm is a 7747 i belive my buddys is the same...with no ostrich just the all in one... i have had help from many but want to get a big view...
Re: 193 and afr timing?

Fuel (AF Ratio) and spark are interconnected. Most get the fuel on, then do the spark, then tweek fuel. You can chase rich fuel and more spark till melt down.
What you will be looking for is melted aluminum on your plugs.
Do a search on "detonation". Then try "Grumpy" "detonation".
