How to figure fuel mileage from datalogs
So, if I were to say... import a CSV from tunerpro into excel, and the run a function to figure fuel mileage from my BPW, RPM, MPH and injector sizing... would this be correct:
(These figures are in CC's for a 19lb injector)
1 / ((miles per hour / 60) * .000264 * (base pulse width) * injectorCC * RPM) = gallons per mile.
I've plugged these in and my car shows 7-10mpg with normal use, which seems a bit low for a stock 305. Does that sound right/is this equasion right?
The only thing I can figure, is I need to maybe divide the rpm by two since each injector fires (essentially, not literally) every other revolution?

Re: How to figure fuel mileage from datalogs
I used Magnus's example from his $6E definitionand made the display in ScannerPro for the $8D.
I used the conversion formula: X/(C*0.0000212*Y*Z)
C=Your Injector size (Lbs/hr)
X=Speed (MPH)
Y= RPM
Z= Injector PW
This will not be perfect because some modification to PW is done via hardware that can't be measured through logging but it gives an indication that "seems" pretty realistic.
I never tried to apply the formula to an exported log but I may try doing that.

yeah I looked at that one, cept it was even further off than the one I was looking at, it said I was getting an average of 35-40mpg cruising at part throttle which I KNOW isnt right.
