Open loop and WB

I found a good AFR on all WOT rpms at all MAP values. (near 12.7:1)
Now I'm running closed loop and my closed loop BLM are 126-128.
Differently of others member the AFR on the WB on CL is near 14.7 . It has a "bouncing " , it's not linear it bounces from 14 to 15.5.
Now I'm thinking to run Open loop on part throttle. (I have no cat)

I have 2 questions:
1)Before to enters in CL (at start up) I can see that the WB output is very linear (not bouncing up and down).
So, running always OL, means that the WB output will be always linear?

2) Now (as I said) I'm happy with the WOT AFR. If I run always OL, the PW calculations will be different on WOT operentions?
I'm referring to the tables:
Loop Open % Change AFR Vs. MAP
and
Loop Open % Change AFR Vs. Temp

I have reduced the added % correction on "Loop Open % Change AFR Vs. MAP" to cure some erratic idle at cold start up, but I'm asking to myself if the 5.85% change that I have now on 85-90-95 and 100 MAP will be added to the good calibration I have now.
Thanks

Re: Open loop and WB

While in closed loop the ECM forces the AFR to bounce. This is to keep the cat operational.

While in open loop the AFR will be steady (not bouncing). The actual AFR should be changing according to the engine load. No need for 12.7 while in steady state cruise.

For non-PE mode open loop the two tables you listed are used:

Loop Open % Change AFR Vs. MAP
Loop Open % Change AFR Vs. Temp

In PE mode there is two other tables that define the change in AFR:

PWR ENRICH F/A %CHG vs COOLANT
POWER ENRICH FUEL/AIR % CHG vs RPM

Perfect!
I'm planning on running open Loop only on part throttle. I'll maintain the PE mode.
The 12,7:1 AFR is only on PE mode.
Judging from the WB AFR values on part throttle, the AFR should be close to 14.7 (with the VE vaues i have now).
I'm glad to see that you confirmed that
Loop Open % Change AFR Vs. MAP
Loop Open % Change AFR Vs. Temp
are non-PE mode open loop, that are not changing my 12.7:1 AFR at WOT.

Thanks

Re: Open loop and WB

here my typical AFR in CL at steady speed (see how it is affected by the O2 switching point)
I'm glad that in OL it will be more flat.
