newb question TunerPro
hey guys
i want remove the speedlimiter, i want do it by myself i dont want buy a aftermarekd chip from wherever.
so far so good.
but i havent done this yet.
its the stock chip inside of my car.
so, i downloadet the programm "TunerPro RT"
and used just a test-bin where i downlaodet from where. just for test.
i use the stock bin definitions ( Select XDF to Open-> Bin Definitions 6E.xdf)
so that worked...
so far so good.
so i want do that with my stock chip, i want have the stock chip without speedlimiter, so i must buy a cable.
thats ok. will do that, but before i want to be sure that i can download with TunerPro the BIN from my car.
there are 2 options, i marked them red, are these the symbols to download / upload the BIN to the chip?
and the other question is can i use the stock bin definintions includet with TunerPro?

thanks for help guys

Re: newb question TunerPro
AFAIK, you can't download to the factory GM stock chip. the program on the stock chip is burned in permanent. I think you first need to extract the factory chip from the factory ECM, then use one of the readily available tools to read/copy the program on the stock chip, make your mods in Tunerpro to this program (BIN), then burn the mod'ed BIN to a new burnable chip. look at the Moates site, I've use Flash-n-burn very successfully, but there are others out there.

What makes you think you are going to go faster than 255MPH?

Tuner Pro RT is essentially just the GUI to beable to modify the bin file.
The up and down arrows are only used with an emulator, such as the Ostrich 2.0.
To retrieve the original bin file from the car, you need to remove the MEMCAL from the ECM, use a chip programmer (and adaptor so that you don't need to desolder the chip). Read the chip save the bin, then open it in Tuner Pro.
Make the changes you want to make, and then save the new bin file, use a unique name.
Go back to your programmer and isert a new EEPROM, open the new bin file to the buffer of that programmer, and then program the EEPROM. You can now take the new EEPROM, and using an adaptor to retain the knock filter and limp modes ( look at the moates.net G1 ), insert the new EEPROM, and there you go.

Re: newb question TunerPro
pascal_91ta, you didn't list which vehicle you wanted to change. However, if it is your 91 TA with the TBI setup you will need the G2 adapter (not the G1). It will be the one with the .6" spacing and will also need to be soldered in.
Get the Burn1 and a few of the flash chips to go with it. You can then read your current chip, make the required changes via TunerPro, and flash a new chip. Install the G2, insert chip, and have fun.
RBob.

Try this link....
http://www.moates.net/files/1)%20Sto...%205%20SPD.bin
You did not say if it's an auto or 5spd. This is a stock 1991 LO3 5 speed bin. Anyway they will be close enough for you to have a good look in Tunerpro.
