car run much better when hot..explanation needed please
hi all
went to a trip yesterday, and i had to drive rather slowly uphills, the coolant went up to about 195-200°....and, i noticed, when driving normal then with engine hot, the car runs much smoother, virtually no jerking and bucking...
i run a 180° T-Stat with a Dewitt radiator, so the car never gets above 180°..except, when i did the slow uphill driving..
so, swapping to a 195° T-Stat and setting the fans to higher temp yields better driveability...
but, why?
which tables should/can be modified, to yield the same driveability with a 180° T-stat?
car is a 90 Vette, M6, 396ci, single plane EFI, XFI467 cam, and 727 ECM..
Thank you
