LC-1 controller mounting

Will be installing a LC-1 soon and was wondering where everyone mounted the controller. My thought was to drill a 1 1/4 inch hole in the firewall around the area of the gas pedal. Get a body plug the same size to put the wire into and wire it that way. This way the unit is not subject to road debris and is kept away from heat and safe. Thoughts and suggestions are welcomed.

Thanks
Bill

Re: LC-1 controller mounting

I mounted mine in the engine compartment on the Passenger side Fender right near the firewall. This is on a P.U though. Have had no problems with it there.

Re: LC-1 controller mounting

Mine is happy in the storage area behind the shifter(Vette). A DB32 A/F gauge sits on the pillar. Initially I had the sensor in ext pipe directly behind collector. Sensor failure resulted. Innovate suggested moving it back a bit. It ended up about 20 inches further back right behind passanger seat where the storage bins are located. Excess cable resides there and a .75 hole with gommet and silicone sealer makes for good seal.

Zip tied to crossmember also. Going on three years, back of crossmember it's well sheltered from road debris.
