ESC Module for a 402 BBC Conversion?
ESC Module for a 402 BBC Conversion?
Hi guys,
Newbie here but have been lurking for a long while so I am finally chiming in to pick your brains. I have a 402/4-speed in my '72 C-20 peecup and am going to do a TBI conversion (again). It is a basically stock, 9:1 CR , low-end "grunt" cam (Comp Cams XE250H grind), Hedman "Elite" headers, Edelbrock Performer intake running the stock Dana "60" rear with 3.54:1 gearing and the stock 16" tires. I first used a V2 Megasquirt and after a year I abandoned that for ease of tunibility with the Q'jet and HEI. Now I am going to try it again this time using a '7747 with RBob's EBL Flash and all of the OEM components, ie, IAT, IAC, MAP, small-cap dizzy, 454 Chevy TBI with the 90 pph injectors, modified FPR for external adjustability, etc. etc. I am going to use the 2000 r/mi VSS that Jagsthatrun offer to screw into my speedo cable so can make the best use of all aspects of the EBL. I have an Innovate LC-1 WBO2 unit left over from my previous iterration which I will retain for this new swap.
Now then, I am going to use an ESC and sensor but my question is which module should I be hunting down. One from a 350 or a 7.4? Since my engine is just about in the middle of the cu/in range of these two it is kind of a 50/50 choice, no?
Thanx for the help!

I'd probably use a 454 esc module, and it looks like, the knock sensor is the same between a 350 and 454 for a 1989 c3500 pickup (just something I picked to look up, it had both engine available tbi for that year).
