DataLog Freez-up???

DataLog Freez-up???
Quick question that I could not find an answer for:
1991 Chevy Suburban 3/4 ton - 4L80e

My problem is as follows:
TunerproRT as well as TTS Datamaster
USB cable from adldcables.com
Datalogging connects and works fine but freezes up when I get past 1/2 throttle. The dash just freezes and the record counts stop until I let of the throttle and then it starts again. Tunerpro seems worse than Datamaster. If I realls stay on it to WOT it will begin to record a bit again but I can not keep my foot into it for that long.
Any ideas or solutions? I have a fast laptop and am recording at 10/sec. I have tried lower samplple rates with no good results.
